Independence Day Celebration – 7/3 10:00 a.m. Start celebrating America’s birthday with our annual bike parade starting at Henderson Elementary School parking lot. Come early and get your place in line before we march up to the MPOA Office. 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The party will continue down at Dolphin Beach with live entertainment and food trucks for you to enjoy. *DAM ENTRANCE/PATH IS CLOSED FOR THE EVENT* 9:30 p.m. Enjoy the spectacular fireworks show. *DAM ENTRANCE/PATH IS CLOSED FOR THE EVENT* A Valid 2021 REC ID is REQUIRED to attend this event. 2 Guests are permitted per pass. The beach will close at the conclusion of the event.
Sober Ride Initiative – 7/4 The Washington Regional Alcohol Program (WRAP), in conjunction with Lyft, will offer free rides home to those who have been imbibing over the Independence Day holiday as part of its SoberRide initiative. The initiative will run from July 4 at 8 p.m. to July 5 at 4 a.m. During this eight-hour period, area residents age 21 and older celebrating with alcohol across the Washington region can download the Lyft app to their phones, then enter the SoberRide code in the app’s “Promo” section to receive their no-cost (up to $15) safe transportation home. The promo code will be posted on July 4 at 7 p.m. at www.soberride.com.
